In the main text, we mentioned that master-slave systems use wired connections (i.e., signal cables) to transmit signals. When a wireless connection is used, how are signals transmitted? Currently, the mainstream technologies are RF technology and Bluetooth technology. The former operates at frequencies such as 433 MHz and 868 MHz and is similar to the “face-to-face” data transfer found in cell phones; the latter is the Bluetooth found in our cell phones, commonly used for connections between Bluetooth cell phones.

To install the motion sensor on LED lights, what is the necessary requirement of LED driver?

As we know, the primary function of a motion sensor is to receive signals and transmit them to a LED driver or other sensors. Signal transmission between sensors does not place any additional demands on the LED driver. The power supply primarily receives dimming signals from the sensor; if your microwave sensor transmits a 0–10V signal, then the LED driver must support 0–10V dimming; if your microwave sensor transmits a DALI signal, then the power supply must support DALI signals. In addition, these types of microwave sensors require a power supply to operate, and their rated input voltage is typically 12 V or 24 V DC; therefore, it is best for the LED driver to include an auxiliary output (i.e., a 12 V or 24 V DC output circuit).

What are the main parameters for setting the motion sensors?

Taking the microwave sensors commonly used in ZGSM lighting fixtures as an example, the main settings include hold time, standby level, standby period (standby time), and daylight sensor. Hold time refers to the duration for which the light fixture remains at full brightness after the sensor is triggered; standby level is the low brightness level at which the fixture operates after the hold time ends and no further trigger occurs; standby period is the duration during which the fixture remains in low-brightness mode—setting this to infinity enables two-stage dimming; the daylight sensor can be enabled or disabled. When enabled, the light will not turn on even if the radar detects a person, provided that ambient natural light exceeds the set illuminance level.
