60W solar street light for industrial park in Egypt


The 60w solar street light project in Egypt industrial park was completed in 2023. This is a newly built industrial park, and the supporting facilities for municipal electricity have not yet been improved. Considering Egypt’s rich solar energy resources and the concept of sustainable development, the project party decided to use solar street lights as the main lighting facilities (Which is the best solar street light for your project?). The PV3 series 60w solar street light adopts a color temperature of 5700K. The light of this color temperature presents a cold white color close to natural light, with high brightness and clarity, which can provide a bright and comfortable lighting environment for the roads and sites of the industrial park, which helps to improve the safety and efficiency of night work.

At the same time, its Type II light distribution is reasonable, which further improves the energy utilization efficiency while ensuring a good visual effect. The integrated solar street lamp is equipped with a 100W monocrystalline silicon (Mono) solar panel and a 45AH lithium battery, which can meet the needs of long-term lighting at night and can continue to work for several days in continuous rainy weather to ensure the stability of lighting. The 60w solar street light project in this Egyptian industrial zone is a prime example of the successful application of sustainable energy in infrastructure development. It provides valuable experience and lessons for promoting the use of solar lighting in other regions.

For a 7-meter-wide road, a 60W solar street light is best installed on a pole approximately 6 meters high; if you want to increase the brightness reserve or allow for sufficient clearance for vehicles passing each other, the height can be increased to 7 meters. The general industry practice is that "the pole height is approximately equal to the road width (for single-sided lighting) or approximately half of the road width (for double-sided lighting)." Therefore, a 6-meter pole height is a better match for a 7-meter road width, while a 7-meter pole height provides more than sufficient illumination (Luminaire arrangement of street light LED).

Solar street lights with motion sensors, due to their flexibility and energy-saving characteristics, are very suitable for the following scenarios:

Urban roads and side roads: Automatically adjust brightness according to traffic density, ensuring safety while achieving efficient energy saving.

Parks, residential areas, and rural roads: In these areas, pedestrian traffic is sparse late at night. The "lights on when people are present, lights off when people leave" mode meets basic lighting needs while greatly saving energy.

Remote and off-grid areas: Solar power combined with intelligent control completely solves the wiring problem, providing a safe and economical lighting solution for areas with weak power infrastructure.

In the future, with the development of the Internet of Things and artificial intelligence technology, the intelligent control of individual street lights will be further integrated into the management network of smart cities. Through big data analysis, the system can learn the patterns of pedestrian and vehicle flow in different areas and at different times, enabling more refined lighting strategy scheduling, further improving urban energy utilization efficiency and public service levels.

Under common conditions of 6-8 meter poles, single-sided lighting, and conventional road lighting distribution, the average illuminance of a 60W solar street light on the road surface typically falls between approximately 12-40 lux. Some engineering examples and product parameters show that some configurations have a nominal 12-30 lux (7-8 meter poles), while other cases have measured approximately 60 lux under good lighting distribution and optimized layout; actual measurements have shown performance of approximately 22 lux directly under the light, approximately 15 lux between lights, and approximately 5.5 lux at the darkest point.
