ZGSM Series Zoom High-Power LED Floodlights for Outdoor Spaces in Portugal


In Portugal, a pedestrian overpass and its surrounding open area were illuminated with traditional halogen lamps( Luminous efficiency difference of traditional and LED lamps ), resulting in dim lighting and persistent insufficient illumination, posing significant safety risks for pedestrians at night. To improve this situation, the local public lighting department in Portugal decided to upgrade the lighting in the area and ultimately purchased ZGSM’s Series ZOOM floodlights. 

They installed 200W high-power LED floodlights on the overpass and in the surrounding outdoor spaces. A total of 50 units were installed, utilizing Lumileds 3030 LED light sources and EUM power supplies, with a color temperature of 4000K and a beam angle of 60°. These lights not only offer high luminous efficiency but also meet the lighting requirements of the bridge and surrounding areas.Every 8 pieces high-power LED floodlights are installed on each high mast to ensure even illumination across the target lighting area. After installation, the illumination on the bridge deck was significantly improved compared to the previous halogen lights. ( Do you have a road waiting for street lighting replacement? )

User feedback indicates that citizens feel much safer walking at night. These lights also feature an IP66 waterproof rating and a tool-less open design, making the high-power LED floodlights ideal for this type of outdoor lighting and subsequent maintenance.

In addition, the optimal shell should be chosen based on the overall structure of the light source and the characteristics of heat dissipation.

At last, choosing high efficiency and reliable LED chips.

To ensure efficiency and reliability, we recommend using top-tier LED chips (such as Lumileds) for high-end projects, or opting for cost-effective domestically produced packaged LEDs. It is also crucial to pay close attention to the luminous efficacy, color rendering index, color temperature, and color tolerance of the LED beads to ensure they meet the requirements of your project.

Pedestrian overpasses and walkways: 4–8 meters, The recommended height is 6 meters.
Public squares and open areas: 6–10 meters.
Parking lots and logistics sites: 8–12 meters.
Stadiums and sports training fields: 12–20 meters.

Whether floodlights need a dimming function mainly depends on the customer’s actual requirements.

If the project requires flexible brightness control, energy saving during off-peak hours, or future smart lighting upgrades, adding dimming is necessary. For applications with fixed lighting needs and simple operation, dimming may not be necessary.
