A Residential Community Street Lighting Project in Nilai Malaysia

This street lighting project is located in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, a mixed community of townhouses and detached houses. The area has a typical tropical rainforest climate, with temperatures staying around 25–33°C throughout the year, high humidity, and frequent rainfall. So at the very beginning of this street lighting project, the client’s biggest concern was quite straightforward: can the street lights really hold up in this kind of environment? Would they leak water, have poor heat dissipation, or start failing after a short period of use? ( Do you have a road waiting for street lighting replacement? )

Another issue during the selection stage of this street lighting project in Malaysia was that the client was not really sure what wattage would be suitable. They didn’t want the lighting to be too dim and affect night-time safety, but at the same time, they were also worried that higher wattage would just waste energy.

To address these concerns, ZGSM provided practical lighting design support for this residential street lighting project based on the road layout and actual usage conditions. For the community side roads, we recommended 100W H-series LED street lights, mainly to ensure basic lighting while keeping energy consumption under control. For the main roads and more open areas, we suggested 165Wpcs to improve overall brightness and lighting uniformity ( What Is Light Uniformity? ). These streetlights are also equipped with timer dimming function ( Application of smart controls ), which can reduce output of street lights during low traffic hours at night to address customer concerns about excessive energy consumption. All lights feature IP66 protection and an optimized heat dissipation structure, effectively ensuring operation in high-temperature and rainy environments.

In the end, this street lighting project in Nilai Malaysia installed 165 pcs of 100W and 98 pcs of 165W H-series LED street lights, delivering a bright and even lighting effect across the whole community and meeting the residents’ night-time safety needs.
