Series H street light in village for community road and parking

This project is located in S2 Heights Phase 3D, which has several roads including motor lanes, temporary parking spaces, and sidewalks. The road composition is quite complex. Due to the high daily traffic and pedestrian volume in the area, the community considered safety factors and decided to install street light in village to enhance the residents’ safety. After receiving this feedback from the client, our technical team divided the road lighting requirements. Conflict areas such as turns and intersections were assigned a lighting level of C, while other roads were assigned a lighting level of M. Based on the results of lighting simulations, we chose ZGSM’s 100W street lights to improve visibility on the roads. Currently, the project is running smoothly, and the community residents have continuously expressed their appreciation for this project.

The maximum illuminance level required at intersections is 50 lux. Each lane near the intersection should have a lighting level of at least 20 lux, although this value is not fixed. Sidewalks also have requirements for illumination levels, but except for crossroads and sidewalks, road lighting mostly adopts brightness standards. For example, the luminance requirements of M1 to M6 are between 2.0 and 0.3.

The CIE (International Commission on Illumination) standards classify roads into different lighting categories and recommend lighting standards for each category. The lighting level for motor vehicle lanes is classified under the M lighting class, and the classification is mainly based on eight parameters: actual speed, actual traffic volume (number of vehicles per day) and traffic composition, lane spacing and intersection density, parked vehicles, ambient brightness, and driving task difficulty.

The selection of lighting levels for motor vehicle traffic, as well as pedestrian traffic road lighting, is based on various parameters. When choosing the lighting level for motor vehicle traffic (referred to as level M), the method outlined in Technical Report CIE 115:2010 is considered. This method takes into account eight parameters, including actual speed, actual traffic volume (number of vehicles per day), traffic composition, lane spacing and intersection density, parked vehicles, ambient brightness, and driver task difficulty. Additionally, when selecting lighting levels for conflict areas (level C), the parameter of junction density is also taken into consideration. As for the selection of lighting levels for pedestrians and low-speed areas (referred to as level P), generally five parameters are considered: pedestrian speed, usage intensity, traffic composition, parked vehicles, and ambient brightness. Furthermore, if necessary, facial recognition may also be taken into account.
